What people say about Stoddard Tile

I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Kim Stoddard’s work.

She is knowledgeable in detecting and solving tile and stone problems. She has over two decades in the tile business. I have even had her do tile repair in my home.

Her work is neat and clean, and the end results are done so well, you cannot see where she has made the repair. With Stoddard Tile, you can be assured that the work is top quality and that Kim stands behind it all the way.

— Bob Stanaland, Fair Oaks – Executive Director of the Ceramic Tile and Stone Institute

I highly recommend Stoddard Tile Company. Kim tiled two of my bathrooms (a tub surround and a shower stall) and my utility room floor from start to finish. The job took creativity and artistry because it was not your standard tile job. Kim’s work was beautiful! Now when people visit, I take them right to the bathrooms, because they are the prettiest rooms in the house. Her prices are reasonable and she is the consummate professional.

We hired Stoddard Tile to tile an exterior concrete patio adjacent to a swimming pool. Kim facilitated our design, selection of materials, and integrated three different types of tiles into a superb result. Her attention to detail was remarkable and very satisfying.

This job was many months in gestation as we decided colors, textures, and layouts. Kim was very patient with our process (working with myself and my wife) as we negotiated our preferences. The patio included three different generations of concrete (starting in 1928) and required an additional concrete portion to complete the design.

Kim made sure that the concrete was sound and properly prepared, that the sections were level (some tiles as large as 20 X 20) and drained properly. She provided guidance on design proportions and dovetailed gracefully with our idiosyncratic creative process. Most thrilling was seeing our design come to life as Kim executed our image into reality! Kim’s instinct for tile placement and design integration is deft and to-die-for accurate!

Many homes in Curtis Park are 80 years old, and even what some of us see as new tile work in our kitchens and baths, may already be 30 or 40 years old. Kim has repaired, and matched and replaced broken tiles for me in two houses. She has also carefully removed old, crumbling grout and replaced it with new grout that makes the repairs imperceptible. Kim’s prices are reasonable, and she is a careful, methodical craftsperson. If I need more tile work, she is the only person I will call. I am pleased to recommend her.

The stone tile floor we have in our kitchen had several cracked tiles. The original builder suggested that we contact Kim to repair the tiles. She did a wonderful job of locating and selecting travertine tiles that matched, and replacing the cracked tiles. After the grout had dried, we could not tell which tiles had been replaced. Kim also cleaned and resealed our stone tile floor and granite countertops. In the past, she has cleaned, repaired, and resealed the grout in our bathrooms.

She has always been very professional, and completed her work in a timely manner.

I highly recommend Kim for stone or tile repair, grout repair, and sealing.

We needed tile repair on our in-ground spa and Kim was the perfect
match for the job!

The tile had lifted away from the underlying structure of the spa. Kim expertly removed the tile (without damage) and reset it perfectly. Her work has now lasted a number of years without any problem.

Kim also has performed a beautiful job of re-grouting part of our Mexican tile patio.

Kim is dependable, reasonably priced, and an expert craftsperson. We’d recommend her without reservation!

In early July, 2011, we decided to redo the kitchen, including porcelain tile counter tops with mortar bed underneath and floor. We also wanted tile on the floors in the utility room and two bathrooms.

Kim Stoddard, company owner, gave us a very detailed estimate; every step of the project was laid out in sequence with labor and materials priced very clearly. The other bids we got were not always clear and required many phone calls to correct duplications or omissions in the work.

Kim and her helper did all the prep work on the linoleum and removal of the laminated wood floors, removed and replaced toilets, removed and replaced appliances and baseboard, and set the sink below the tile for the counter top. Kim was very helpful in educating us about tile selection, and even collected some samples from tile stores for us. She laid out all the tile first, with an artistic eye for color gradations, markings and general appearance. The end product showed her precision, neatness and perfectionism. The whole job was done with minimal mess and disruption to our comings and goings. We are extremely happy with the tile work.

I had many mismatched tiles in my home after a previous cracked tile repair job. The original tile company could not locate any tile that matched so they gave up and told me “too bad live with it”.

Kim to the rescue!!!!!!! She quickly found the exact tile I needed and was very prompt, courteous, and professional. The repair went very quickly and the match is so good I defy anyone to find the replacements.

Needless to say Kim will be doing all of my future tile work.
